Choose online when location and spacing matter
Live online delivery can bring colleagues together without travel and support practice spread across several sessions. It still needs protected time, suitable devices, approved accounts and responsive facilitation. A webinar watched while answering normal work messages is a different learning experience from a practical lab. Plan how the trainer will see participants’ work and help someone who is blocked by an access or task problem.
Choose on-site when shared work benefits from a room
An on-site workshop can help colleagues map a process together and discuss handovers across roles. Confirm room layout, connectivity, display, device access and visitor requirements early. Allow for shift coverage and customer-service responsibilities so participants can finish the exercise. “Offline training” commonly means in-person attendance; it does not imply that cloud AI tools will work without an internet connection.
Treat hybrid as a deliberate design
A hybrid session can leave remote participants watching conversations they cannot fully join. Use the same digital exercise pack for everyone, assign a facilitator to remote questions and make group outputs visible. Check room audio and screen sharing before delivery. If these conditions cannot be met, separate online and on-site cohorts may produce a clearer learning experience with the same objective.
Compare the full cost and calendar
Include preparation, participant time, travel, venue, access support and any follow-up in the comparison. For international online cohorts, use the calendar date and local time zone rather than assuming a fixed offset from India. For on-site delivery, confirm travel and availability before announcing a date. The cheapest live-hour price is not necessarily the format with the lowest total organizational effort.
Use the same learning check
Ask both formats to produce the same evidence: a completed task, identified errors, correction notes and a review checklist. Compare how well participants can repeat the method after the session. This makes the choice accountable to learning rather than preference alone. A later practice clinic can address common mistakes, but its timing and scope need to be agreed rather than assumed.
